lazy sunday

hello..

well i finished the painting. how it happened was a friend of mine had a canvas and his old housemate painted this hideous flower on it. i used to always bag it our when ever i went round.. so he told me to take it home and repaint it..

thus my painting was born.. im not usually a painter, and if i do i use water colours.. so this was kinda out of my comfort zone.. and it was fun.

anyway i just wanted to share some links to things i like this lovely windy sunday afternoon..

i am loving this print on etsy by one red robin. i really like the woodland creatures, she is so talented.

also if you could please vote for my friend holly here.
she is an awesome gal and this is an amazing opportunity for her, she has made it into the top 10.. now she need public votes to bring her across the link to win.

enjoy your weekend

my favourite thing about coffee breaks at work is the selection of coffee mugs on offer..

so many friends.

so i found this little guy the other night as i walked back to my car from the libary at uni. I really love how beautiful this moth is. everyone always loves the butterflies but i think im sold on the moth..
I had a revelation today. I realised im not going to be living on the sunshine coast forever. It is so tempting to get caught up in making a lovely home, buying cute vintage things and collecting crap, but i know i am not called to live a life settled in the one area. I am called to be a nomad, a traveller, not settled.
This is hard, as i sometimes think of how lovely it would be to have a cute little house, with a handsome husband, where i read books, and explore thoughts and do all the creative things i want to do forever. But i know this is not what is planned for my life.
I know i have to live a hard sometimes uncomfortable life, to see change in this world, and hope restored.. and maybe one day i can settle down..
but for now i must focus and learn, enjoy where i at.. but not be settled.. not be content.. never give in to what the world tells me i need.
for now i have my moth..

on my desk..

i should just aim to do this thurs as its the day i have internet access..

anyway.. today. on my desk.. i my flights to melbourne.. i snabbed these a few weeks ago.. but getting excited this week. uni semester is nearly over which means i can do more fun things like craft.. and dinner parties instead of late nights at the uni.

4 weeks and i will fly fly away..

also.. my textbook for pacific security.. great book for anyone interested to learn the history of terror, and that its not just an islamic fundamentalist idea.

how time has flown

so.. i was just sitting here, looking through pictures on my laptop.. and i came across this beauty..
this is my sister and youngest nephew joshua.. who is now 1 1/2yrs..
This picture makes me smile lots..
when my first nephew was born sarah learnt that if she stroked the nose of the babies they would relax and fall asleep.. ever since she has been doing it and it works a treat but what i love is that its an aunty sarah thing. only she does it (well me occationally) and to me it opitomises her relationship with the boys.. She is so caring, relaxing and loving. I often wish i could be more like her...
Its also kinda scary how big joshie is now.. he has grown up so fast, i love it and hate it at the same time.
anyway just wanted to share my smile with you..

on my desk begins..

late already..

but its hard to be an avid blogger when you dont have the internet at home.. but enough complaining.. im here..

so for those who dont know.. there is a whole swag of bloggers who are super crafty who do a weekly blog on what is 'on their desks'.. ive been following a number of others [a, b, c] and decided it would be much more fun if i got in on the action too.. so here i go.. on my desk begins..

this week ive been focusing on my taliban paper and loving it.. although getting distracted by friends a bit too much.. ive also been slowly working through my list of things to do in my little super book.. and fixing broken stuff. like my necklace holder..

I am also the unsure owner of a pair of reading glasses.. the newest addition to my desk..

you can check out the other players here..
